ABOUT RUNE AND RAVEN

Rune and Raven creates bespoke memorial and creamation jewellery, each piece made individually and with care. Because our pieces are personalised and made specifically for each customer, certain aspects of our service differ from those of standard jewellery purchases.

By placing an order with Rune and Raven, you acknowledge and agree to the terms below.

BESPOKE & PERSONALISED PRODUCTS

All Rune and Raven urn pendants are made to order and are personalised using the ashes or other approved memorial material entrusted to us.

Because each piece is individually handmade, no two pieces will ever be completely identical. Small variations in finish, texture, shape, stone, colour and placement may occur and are considered part of the character of a handmade piece.

CREMATION ASHES & MEMORIAL MATERIAL

Customers are responsible for providing the correct memorial material and ensuring that it is securely packaged for collection or delivery.

Only a very small quantity of ashes is required for each pendant. Any unused ashes or material will be returned to you where applicable, in accordance with the process communicated to you at the time of purchase.

Rune and Raven takes great care when receiving, handling and incorporating memorial material. However, once memorial material has been handed to a third-party courier or postal service, Rune and Raven cannot accept responsibility for loss, theft, damage or misdelivery occurring during transit.

We strongly recommend that memorial material is sent using a tracked and insured service where possible.

Rune and Raven cannot guarantee recovery or replacement of ashes or other irreplaceable memorial material if these are lost in transit.

DELIVERY OF ASHES TO RUNE AND RAVEN

Customers are responsible for ensuring that memorial material is correctly packaged and available for collection or delivery as instructed.

Rune and Raven cannot be held responsible for material that is incorrectly packaged, inadequately sealed, incorrectly addressed or otherwise compromised before it reaches us.

Where Rune and Raven arranges collection through a third-party courier, responsibility for the package while in transit remains subject to the courier's terms and conditions.

NATURAL STONES & GEMSTONES

Where a pendant incorporates a natural stone or gemstone, colour, tone, pattern, inclusions, clarity, shape and cut may vary from the images shown on our website.

Natural stones are unique elements of nature and no two stones are exactly alike. Variations are therefore not considered defects and are not grounds for return, exchange or refund.

Product photography is intended as a representation only. The appearance of a stone may also vary depending on lighting, screen settings and photography conditions.

COLOUR & FINISH

Due to the handmade nature of our jewellery, slight variations in colour, finish, texture and appearance may occur.

Gold is a natural material and may develop subtle changes in appearance through normal wear and exposure to the environment.

These variations are considered inherent to the nature of handmade jewellery and do not constitute manufacturing defects.

ORDERS & PAYMENT

An order is only confirmed once full payment has been received and the order has been accepted by Rune & Raven.

Because each memorial pendant is made specifically for the customer, production will only begin once payment has been received and the required memorial material has been received or collection has been arranged.

CANCELLATIONS, RETURNS & REFUNDS

Bespoke memorial pendants

Due to the personalised and irreversible nature of our memorial pendants, orders cannot be cancelled once production has commenced.

No refunds, returns or exchanges are offered on bespoke pendant urns once production has commenced, except where required by applicable South African consumer law.

Because memorial material is incorporated into the piece and the pendant is permanently sealed, personalised pieces cannot be resold.

If an order is cancelled before production has commenced, Rune and Raven may, at its discretion, provide a refund subject to any costs already incurred in preparing the order.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any rights that cannot lawfully be excluded under applicable consumer-protection legislation.

PERMANENT SEALING

Our memorial pendants are permanently laser sealed once the memorial material has been placed inside.

Once sealed, the pendant cannot be opened without damaging or destroying the piece.

Customers acknowledge that the sealing process is permanent and that Rune and Raven cannot subsequently remove, replace or alter the memorial material once the pendant has been sealed.

JEWELLERY CARE

While our pendants are designed to be durable and watertight, they should still be treated as fine jewellery.

We recommend avoiding prolonged exposure to:

• Harsh chemicals
• Chlorine and swimming pools
• Perfume and cosmetics
• Household cleaning products
• Excessive heat
• Abrasive surfaces
• Activities where the jewellery may be struck, caught or damaged

Rune and Raven cannot accept responsibility for damage caused by misuse, accidents, impact, improper care, alterations or repairs carried out by third parties.

CHAINS & CLASPS

Chains and clasps are subject to normal wear and tear.

Rune and Raven recommends removing jewellery during activities where the chain may be pulled, caught or subjected to excessive force.

Damage or breakage resulting from normal wear, accidental damage or improper use is not considered a manufacturing defect.

PRODUCTION TIMES

Each piece is handmade and made to order. Estimated production and delivery times will be communicated at the time of purchase.

Production times are estimates and may vary depending on order volume, availability of materials, courier delays and other circumstances outside of our reasonable control.

We will make reasonable efforts to keep customers informed of any significant delays.

DELIVERY

Delivery times provided by Rune and Raven are estimates and may be affected by courier delays, incorrect delivery information, adverse weather, customs, public holidays or other circumstances outside our control.

Customers are responsible for providing accurate delivery information.

Rune and Raven cannot accept responsibility for delays or losses caused by incorrect or incomplete delivery information supplied by the customer.

PRODUCT IMAGES

We make every effort to accurately photograph and represent our jewellery. However, colours may appear differently depending on lighting, photography and individual device or screen settings.

Due to the handmade nature of our products, the final piece may differ slightly from website imagery.

PERSONAL INFORMATION

Information provided to Rune and Raven, including contact details, delivery information and information relating to an order, will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable South African privacy legislation.

We will never use memorial material supplied by a customer for promotional, photographic or other purposes without appropriate permission.

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

All website content, including photography, product designs, written content, branding, logos, graphics and other creative material, belongs to Rune and Raven or is used with permission.

Content may not be reproduced, copied, modified, distributed or used commercially without prior written permission.

LIABILITY

Rune and Raven takes every reasonable precaution when handling memorial material and creating each piece.

However, due to the irreplaceable nature of cremation ashes and other memorial material, Rune and Raven cannot guarantee the recovery or replacement of memorial material lost or damaged while in the possession of a third-party courier or delivery service.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Rune and Raven will not be responsible for indirect or consequential loss arising from the loss of memorial material, delays in delivery or circumstances outside our reasonable control.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions is intended to exclude any liability or consumer right that cannot legally be excluded under South African law.

EVENTS OUTSIDE OUR CONTROL

Rune and Raven will not be liable for delays or failure to perform our obligations where this is caused by circumstances reasonably beyond our control, including but not limited to courier disruptions, natural disasters, strikes, power or internet outages, illness, government restrictions or other unforeseen events.

By placing an order with Rune and Raven, you confirm that you have read, understood and accepted these Terms & Conditions.
