Rune and Raven is a fine cremation jewellery brand founded by sisters Charlotte and Courteney, born from our own deeply personal experience with grief. We create 9ct gold urn jewellery that holds a small amount of your loved one’s ashes, offering a beautiful way to honour those you’ve lost. Having walked this road ourselves, we understand the trust you place in us and treat every piece - and every story behind it - with the dignity, care and respect we would expect for our own.

A Rune and Raven urn pendant is a piece of fine 9ct gold cremation jewellery, designed to hold a small amount of your loved one’s ashes within. Each pendant is professionally sealed and finished, creating a beautiful and deeply personal keepsake you can wear every day.

Your first Rune and Raven Care Package, containing a small sealable bag for your loved one’s ashes, will arrive within 5 business days of purchase. Once you’re ready, simply contact us to arrange collection. From the day we receive your ashes, please allow 7–10 working days for your finished piece to be completed and returned to you.

A small amount of your loved one’s ashes is placed within your chosen pendant by us, handled with the utmost care, dignity and respect. We’ll send you a photograph of this meaningful part of the process before your pendant is professionally laser sealed, finished and polished. Any remaining ashes will be sent straight back to you with your final order.

Only a very small amount is needed - just a pinch, approximately 3–5g. The remainder of your loved one’s ashes stays safely with you.

Yes. In fact, this is one of the reasons Rune and Raven was created. Our 9ct gold urn pendants are professionally laser sealed, protecting the ashes within from water and everyday wear. You can shower, swim and sleep in your pendant, allowing it to become a lasting part of your everyday life.

Our urn pendants, necklace chains and bracelet chains are crafted from 9ct gold, chosen for its beauty and durability. Our Calendar Stones feature a selection of carefully sourced stones, each representing a different month of the year.

Any ashes not used in your pendant are carefully returned to the original sealable bag and sent back to you safely alongside your finished Rune and Raven piece.

Yes. If you would like to create multiple pendants using the same ashes, please contact us directly and we’ll guide you through the process.

Our urn pendants are designed to look and feel like fine jewellery, with no outward indication that they contain ashes. What your pendant holds is entirely personal to you - to anyone else, it is simply a beautiful piece of jewellery.

As with all 9ct gold jewellery, we recommend gently cleaning your Rune and Raven piece with warm water, mild soap and a soft cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners and vigorous scrubbing, and store your piece carefully when it’s not being worn to help preserve its shine and beauty for years to come.

No. Once your loved one’s ashes have been placed inside, the pendant is professionally laser sealed and designed to remain permanently closed. This protects the ashes within and allows you to wear your piece with confidence, without worrying about it opening.

Yes. We offer gift cards through our website, allowing your loved one to choose the piece that feels right for them. Alternatively, contact us directly and we can create a personalised gift card artwork for you to give them, before personally guiding the recipient through each step of the Rune & Raven process with care and sensitivity.

Payments can be made securely through our website using a bank card or Payfast. If you would prefer to pay via EFT, please contact us directly and we’ll be happy to assist.
